A group of Lynn teens recently traveled to Boston to take part in a rally promoting the need for more jobs for young people in a Massachusetts. The rally, at Faneuil Hall, is an annual event of the Youth Jobs Coalition, a statewide coalition of 40 groups that advocates for youth employment. The local teens who took part are members of the Lynn Youth Organizing Network, which has been participating in the coalition for the past two years. As part of that effort, the Lynn group has met with elected officials and major businesses from the region over the past two years to press for more youth jobs in the Lynn area. Rebecca Fils-Aime, a core team member of LYON and of Girls Inc. of Lynn, was a cochairwoman of the Boston rally.
