The Agricultural Committee is preparing for the third season of the city’s outdoor farmers market. Held at the city’s Spence Farm property on Wyman Street, the market offers freshly grown fruits and vegetables from local farms as well as such locally produced items as grass-fed beef, fresh seafood, cheese, baked goods, and handmade items from artisans. This year it will operate every Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. from June 23 to Oct. 20. The committee is seeking local growers and artisans to participate in the market, which typically features 20 to 30 vendors each week. Now in its second season, the market operates in the farm building from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. every other Sunday — the next date is next Sunday, April 7. This year’s winter market began last November and will run through May 19.
