Committee will review zoning ordinance

A 20-member advisory committee will review Somerville’s zoning ordinance as the city looks to overhaul its regulations. The panel will implement changes to make the zoning laws more focused on allowing transit-oriented development, and to untangle some of the complexities that have resulted from the city repeatedly adjusting its zoning ordinance since 1923, rather than completely remaking it, according to George Proakis, Somerville’s director of planning.
