Library uses virtual bookshelf

The public library has found a way to showcase new materials added to its collection each week. The library recently began displaying an online version of its shelf for new books on the library’s website, www.burlingtonpubliclibrary.org. When they go to the site, residents will see rotating images of the latest books, movies, music CDs, and audio books available for borrowing. Patrons can also sign up for “Wowbrary” e-mail alerts that provide that information. Meanwhile, in observance of National Library Week, the library is offering a fine-free week from April 14-20. Anyone owing fines for overdue books can have them forgiven by bringing their cards to the circulation desk. Also, because that is school vacation week, the library will be offering special programs for children from Tuesday April 15 through Friday, April 19. (The library is closed on Monday for Patriots Day). For more information, visit the library website.
