Schools with extended hours

There are 22 schools in the region that have a longer school day, extended school year, or both. Most are public charter schools. Only the six schools marked in bold — traditional public schools in Chelsea, Malden, and Revere — receive funding through the state Department of Elementary and Secondary Education’s Expanded Learning Time Initiative, which was launched in 2006.
