The eighth annual Newburyport Literary Festival takes place at various venues around the city on Friday and Saturday.

The 11th annual Favorite Poem Project of Greater Newburyport begins at 3 p.m. Sunday in the Firehouse Center for the Arts, One Market Square.

Poetry readers will include a Newburyport city councilor and School Committee member; a 6-year-old first-grader; some of the high school’s creative writing students; and Anne Azéma, a French-born vocalist and artistic director of the Boston Camerata. Poems will be read in French, Chinese, Greek, and German, as well as English.
