Removed Windover sign will return

A sign promoting the agreement to hire Windover Construction to work on the Penguin Hall project was taken down on orders from the Planning Board, but it is scheduled to go back up on Tuesday following a site visit from the board. The former Mullen Advertising property is being developed as an over-55 residential community, and developers installed a sign touting the agreement with Windover Construction, along with EGA Architects and engineer Meridian Associates, but did so in advance of its April 18 hearing to receive a special permit from the board (all signs over certain heights require special permits in Wenham). “We got ahead of ourselves,” said Jim Mullen, part of the development team. “We’ve had a great relationship with the town of Wenham, and the Planning Board has been especially generous.” The board granted the permit, but told the developers to remove the sign until after the required site visit.
