Longtime Masconomet Regional School Committee member Lawrence Lindquist had opted not to seek reelection this fall, but with no candidate for the position on the ballot, he may be brought back to office anyway after Tuesday’s annual town election, which is being run in conjunction with the special state primary for US Senate. School Committee chairman John Spencer said Lindquist has agreed to accept the position if he is voted in as a write-in candidate. That is the only position with no candidate on a ballot that features just one contested race, with Mark Frampton and Brian Rossano running for the one-year unexpired term on the Park and Cemetery Commission most recently held by Michael Smerczynski. Paula Burke is not seeking reelection as town clerk, but the expected race for that position between assistant treasurer Ann Gill and Catherine Granata failed to materialize after Granata withdrew. Voting is scheduled for St. Rose of Lima Hall, Park Street, from 7 a.m. until 8 p.m.
