Grants allow park renovations

A total of $834,000 will be put into renovating three Medford parks, according to Mayor Michael McGlynn. Using federal grants, Morrison and Hickey parks will be made more handicapped accessible, and the softball facilities at Columbus Park will be overhauled, McGlynn said in a press conference April 26. A new field, batting cage, dugouts, and fences are all part of the work at Columbus Park, which is expected to be undertaken this spring. Work on ramps for people with physical handicaps and other work to increase accessibility will start this summer at Hickey Park and Morrison Park.
