The town has a new selectman, with voters at the annual town election on April 30 choosing veteran Finance Committee member Joseph Anderson over Kristi Devine, 704 to 202. The two were vying for a seat vacated by Dick Cushing, who chose not to run for another term. It was the town’s only contested race, with several incumbents retaining their seats, including Kimberly Cole on the Board of Health, Ann Bardeen on the Planning Board, Christopher Wile on the Pentucket Regional School Committee, Albert Knowles on the Board of Water Commissioners, and Alexandra Guralnick and Marcia Sellos-Moura on the Board of Library Trustees. Former selectman Tom Atwood was also voted in as assessor, earning 513 votes. At the annual Town Meeting on April 29, residents approved the town’s $12.8 million budget.
