Education secretary to deliver keynote

Matthew Malone, the Massachusetts education secretary, is the keynote speaker at the Cape Ann Chamber of Commerce luncheon scheduled for Wednesday in The Essex Room at Woodman’s, 125 Main St. Prior to his appointment as the state’s top education official in December 2012, the Marine Corps veteran had been superintendent of schools in Brockton and Swampscott. As part of the program, seven graduating seniors from Cape Ann high schools will be honored as recipients of the chamber’s 2013 scholarships. The cost is $40 for members and $50 for nonmembers.
