Haverhill group gets Heritage grant

The Essex National Heritage Commission has announced the recipients of its 2013 partnership grants. Included among them: The Rocks Village Memorial Association in Haverhill, which strives to sustain the 1840 Rocks Village Hand Tub House (fire station) as an educational resource and community activity center. The $1,500 grant will be used to restore the roof of the city-owned historic building, which is on the banks of the Merrimack River in the Rocks Village section of Haverhill’s East Parish. This year, 10 grants of $1,500 each were awarded. For more information, visit www.essexheritage.org
