A proposed $111.15 million fiscal 2014 budget is among the key matters that will be taken up by the annual Town Meeting on Monday, beginning at 7:30 p.m., in the high school auditorium. The meeting is also scheduled to take up a proposed capital budget that includes $285,000 for systemwide school security improvements, $266,500 for repairs to the high school gym, $260,000 for sewer system repairs, and $247,700 to replace three public works vehicles. Other spending requests include $1.65 million for roadway improvements, a $4.96 million sewer budget, $537,000 for drainage improvements to the high school practice field, and $500,000 for water system upgrades. Town Meeting will also be asked to authorize the purchase of property at 33 Central St. for the potential expansion of the Town Hall campus, and to appropriate $700,000 for it. In other business, the meeting will take up proposals to adopt a new wetlands protection bylaw, and to rezone the Mary P.C. Cummings estate land from single-family to open space.
