The City Council’s Finance Committee will take up three spending requests from Mayor Ted Bettencourt at its meeting Thursday at 7 p.m. One is for $7,500 to update the city code, a booklet that lists all nonzoning ordiannces approved by the City Council. The update would be prepared by a vendor, Municipal Code Corp., according to city clerk Timothy Spanos. The other two requests are $46,367 to pay for mowing and tree and shrub maintenance at the city’s cemeteries; and $5,000 to cover a shortfall in the Cemetery Department’s overtime account. At its regular meeting that night, which starts at 7:30 p.m., the council will hold a hearing on technical amendments to the zoning ordinances and several changes to the city’s zoning map, all proposed by the Department of Community Development and Planning. One of the map changes would rezone about nine parcels in an industrial park on Pulaski Street, according to Spanos. The parcels, on the north side of the way that runs into the park, would be rezoned from industrial to general business.
