Several proposed amendments to the town’s zoning bylaw are under discussion by the Planning Board. One would add language providing the board with the authority to approve the design of signs in the town center district. The board has the power to review the design of development in the district, but that authority does not currently extend to signs, according to Don Benjamin, the town’s senior planner. The board is also discussing proposed changes to the zoning rules governing structured parking and planned development districts, and a proposal by town meeting member Paul Valleli to add zoning rules regulating outdoor lighting, according to Benjamin.
