Hajjar Elementary welcomes new principal

Elizabeth Devine, who currently serves as principal at Tyngsborough Elementary School, has been selected to succeed Maureen O’Hara as principal of Hajjar Elementary School. O’Hara is retiring at the end of the school year. Superintendent Timothy Piwowar introduced Devine at the May 13 School Committee meeting. Devine, who has led the elementary school in Tyngsborough for eight years, was previously the school’s assistant principal and has also worked as both a classroom teacher and special education teacher. She topped the initial field of 45 applicants, which was whittled down to four finalists by a screening committee.
