Appleton Mills recognized for preservation

The rehabilitation and adaptive reuse of Appleton Mills, part of the Hamilton Canal District project, has again garnered recognition for Trinity Financial. The company recently received a 2013 Massachusetts Historical Commission Historic Preservation Award, presented by William Galvin, chairman of the commission and Massachusetts secretary of state. Constructed in the early 1900s as home to Appleton Manufacturing Co., the building had fallen into disrepair. Following renovations, it opened in 2011 as Appleton Mills, offering 130 live/work housing units to attract artists, using state and federal historic rehabilitation tax credits.
