The Wakefield Farmers Market is kicking off its fifth season on Saturday. Through Oct. 19, the outdoor market will operate each Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., rain or shine, in Hall Park on North Avenue, adjacent to Veterans Field on Lake Quannapowitt. At least 27 vendors will take part in this year’s market, with an average of 18 to 20 on hand each week. Included will be six farmers offering produce and meat. There will also be vendors selling an assortment of other goods, including fish, locally produced baked goods, preserves, salsa, root beer, Middle East fare; maple cotton candy, and soaps. The market will also feature special events, including musical entertainment, cooking demonstrations, and information from local nonprofits about their services.
