Town looking for human resources director

The town is hoping to hire its first human resources director by early fall, according to Town Manager William R. Ross. The full-time position, approved at Town Meeting, will pay roughly $85,000; whoever is selected will be responsible for overseeing hiring, recruitment, benefits, labor negotiations, and grievances for the 700 municipal and school employees and the 20 collective bargaining units representing them. Ross said he will be working closely with School Superintendent Brenda J. Hodges and selectmen to outline the job description and during the hiring process.
