The Viking Pride Foundation is continuing to raise funds for its project to make the Larry Larsen Rink available for recreational use during spring and summer. The rink, located at the town-owned Mike Eruzione Center, is currently not used between mid-April and mid-August. The foundation’s goal has been to provide the removable flooring and equipment needed for the rink to be used as a recreation center during those months. Recently, the group donated the flooring. It is now seeking funds to purchase equipment and defray other costs of the project. As part of its fund drive, the foundation is holding a “Summer Chiller” fund-raiser on Aug. 24 from 7 to 11 p.m. at the rink, 45 Pauline St. . Tickets are $30 and will include a live dance band, food, drinks, and raffles. For tickets, go to www.vikingpride.org or call 617-539-4873. The foundation is a local nonprofit that raises money to support programs in the town’s public schools, youth development programs, and local sports.
