High 5

Tom Budrewicz , Middleton Post 227: From July 10-14, the 17-year-old hit .455 with a pair of doubles and also made numerous outstanding plays in center field. Dave Center , Medford Post 45: On Tuesday, the first baseman hit a three-run homer in a 6-1 win over Tyngsborough Post 247. This came just three days after he hit a game-winning, two-run double in the top of the seventh of a 3-1 Post 45 win over Newton Post 440. The rising Medford High senior is leading his first-place Zone 5B team in batting (.440) this summer while supplying three home runs and 18 RBIs.

Chris Chiardo , Saugus Post 210: In Tuesday’s District 8 All-Star game, the rising senior from Revere High started off a five-run ninth inning rally, knocking in the first run with an RBI single. This came after 6-foot-1 first baseman was hit in the forehead by an errant throw that bounced off the dirt. He was replaced in the field following the injury, but still delivered in the ninth.

Joe St. Hilaire , North Chelmsford Post 313: The 6-foot-2 righty threw a six-inning complete game in a 15-3 romp over Hudson Post 100 on July 12. The recent Chelmsford High grad allowed just four hits, and tallied two of his own in the offensive drubbing. He will play for Fitchburg State next season.

Shane Surette , Haverhill Post 4: The 6-foot lefty fired a four-hit, complete game shutout against Middleton Post 227 on July 11. In the 1-0 effort, the rising Bridgewater State sophomore walked none and struck out eight batters, including the final batter of the game to get out of a bases-loaded jam.
