Brett Fontaine , Newburyport Post 150: The 6-foot-2 graduate of Newburyport High School fired a complete game two-hitter in a 6-2 playoff win against Methuen Post 122 on Monday. The Wheaton College rising sophomore gave up two unearned runs in the seventh and struck out 10 in the effort.

Nathan Frongillo , Haverhill Post 4: The 6-foot-1 Whittier Tech grad scored game-winning runs in consecutive days for Haverhill. The Colby-Sawyer-bound 18-year-old scored on a walk-off suicide squeeze to beat Andover Post 8 in a 5-4 win that clinched a playoff berth on July 24. The day before he scored the game-winner in a 1-0 win over Lynn Post 6.

Mark Fusco , Medford Post 45: The 5-foot-9, 155-pound utility man helped carry Post 45 to its first sectional playoff berth in a decade. He played every position except first base this summer, while hitting .393 and compiling a 4-1 record on the mound. The Suffolk-bound Fusco had a hit in both of Medford’s playoff games, though the team was eliminated after losing its two matchups.

Cam Latta, Lowell Post 87: The St. Anselm-bound pitcher hurled a two-hit shutout, beating Haverhill Post 4 in a playoff matchup on July 28. The recent Lowell High grad gave up no hits and struck out four in the 5-0 win.

Bobby Woodworth , Middleton Post 227: The Cornell student tossed an eight-inning complete game, striking out eight and allowing four hits in a playoff matchup against Billerica Post 268 on July 28. He also scored the walk-off run in the eighth as Post 227 won 3-2.
