The town is seeking residents interested in filling two vacant seats on the Historical Commission. Appointed by the Board of Selectmen, the all-volunteer panel works to preserve the town’s historic assets. The terms of the two seats expire this month. Anyone interested in applying is asked to submit a letter of interest or a resume to the board no later than Aug. 12. Also, nomination papers will become available on Monday for residents interested in running for office in this year’s town election. Voters will fill all five seats on the Board of Selectmen, the five School Committee seats, two seats on the Housing Authority, and 50 Town Meeting member seats. The deadline to take out papers is Sept. 13, and to return them, Sept. 17.
