Peabody

Library to host climate change lecture

A Peabody resident will bring a personal perspective to the issue of climate change in an upcoming lecture at the Peabody Institute Library. Anna McGinn attended the 2011 United Nations Climate Change Conference in Durban, South Africa, as part of a research team from Dickinson College in Pennsylvania, where McGinn is entering her senior year as an environmental studies major. McGinn will draw on that experience when she delivers her talk, “Global Perspectives on the Changing Climate,” on Wednesday at 7 p.m. at the main library, 82 Main St. By relating her involvement with the issue, McGinn will seek to open a discussion about climate change and what people can do on a local level to address the problem, according to organizers of the event. For more information or to register, call 978-531-0100, ext. 10. Registration can also be done online at www.peabodylibrary.org.
