Georgetown Fire Chief Albert Beardsley is shopping for two “power stretchers” — motorized stretchers that raise the patient automatically, without lifting — after being notified that his department had received a $32,442 federal grant. The grant came from the Federal Emergency Management Agency through its Assistance to Firefighters grant program. Beardsley applied for the grant, which will pay for two power stretchers, in 2012.
