Bank foundation donates $25,000 to theater

The Stoneham Savings/Salem Five Charitable Foundation is donating $25,000 to Stoneham Theatre and becoming one of the flagship sponsors for Season 14. The foundation supports organizations and worthwhile causes to build stronger, more vibrant, and prosperous communities. Stoneham Savings Bank is a division of Salem Five Bancorp. The bank and charitable foundation have been supporters of Stoneham Theatre since 2000, according to a written statement released by Jeffrey A. Worth, the bank’s executive vice president. Worth, who also serves as chairman of the theater’s board of trustees, noted that it provides “cultural and educational contributions” and is “key to our wonderful community, and we’re very proud of their many accomplishments.” The professional regional theater offers diverse productions, from Broadway classics to world premieres. The theater also is home to a concert series and an educational program that offers year-round theatrical training to students entering grades 1 through 12.
