The Andover Fund for Education is seeking applicants for innovation mini-grants. Teachers may apply for funding to underwrite a new classroom program. The mini-grant program strives to promote educational leadership, creativity, and academic excellence by enabling teachers to put their ideas into practice. Successful applicants submit proposals for projects that stimulate interest and development in math, science, language, reading, writing, social studies, or other core curriculum fields. Past projects funded by the program include “hands-on-electricity,” a project that gave Andover High School students the opportunity to build and use electronic circuits, and a physical education activity that develops hand-eye coordination, contributing to academic success. For more information, visit www.andoverfundforeducation.org. The deadline to apply is Oct. 15.
