Mayor Donna Holaday is inviting Newburyport residents to participate in the second Community Energy Forum, scheduled to take place from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Newburyport City Hall, 60 Pleasant St. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. Drinks and refreshments will be served. Building on past community input, technical assessments, and other research, forum participants will review and prioritize clean-energy projects for Newburyport. Experts also will be on hand to discuss pros, cons, and options for project development with Newburyport citizens. The forum is part of an ongoing initiative to create a clean energy road map for Newburyport. The Community Energy Strategies Program was developed by the city of Newburyport, Massachusetts Clean Energy Center, and the Green Communities Division of the Massachusetts Department of Energy Resources. It provides residents and businesses an opportunity to work with city and regional leaders and technical experts, to identify, assess, and enable new energy efficiency, renewable energy, and renewable heating and cooling projects to serve the city of Newburyport.
