Recreation Department taking registrations


The Recreation Department is accepting registration for its fall programs. Among the children’s programs offered are after-school open gym, tennis, learning to skate, hip-hop dance, arts and crafts, and vacation-week workshops and early-release day programs. There are also children’s programs geared for outdoor enthusiasts, including rock climbing, after-school surfing, pumpkin carving, and a variety of outdoor education classes. Preschool programs include gymnastics, athletics, and a story tour. The options for adults include watercolor and decorative painting classes and fitness programs such as yoga, cardio conditioning, and boot camp. To register, go to the Parks and Recreation Department’s page on the city’s website,, or stop in at the department’s office, 50 Farm Ave.
