Breakfast to host mayor, challenger

The Cape Ann Chamber of Commerce will host a breakfast debate featuring incumbent Gloucester Mayor Carolyn Kirk and challenger Mac Bellon Tuesday at the Elks at Bass Rocks, 101 Atlantic Road, Gloucester. A continental breakfast will be served before the debate, with check-in at 7:30 and the debate from 8 to 9 a.m. The event will be open to chamber members and the general public. Tickets are $34 in advance, $40 on the week/day of the debate for members, and $50 for nonmembers. Questions will be posed to the candidates by Cape Ann journalists, but those interested in submitting questions may do so by e-mailing peter@capeannchamber.com. Preregistration is recommended at www.capeannchamber.com, or by calling 978-283-1601. The election is scheduled for Nov. 5.
