Cahill outpaces mayoral opponents in fund-raising

Michael Cahill, who topped the ballot in last month’s preliminary mayoral election, also outpaced his opponents this year in fund-raising. According to campaign finance reports submitted to the city, Cahill raised $22,670 between Jan. 1. and Aug. 30. During that same period, D. Wesley Slate Jr., who will face off against Cahill in the November election, raised $17,855. Last month’s third-place finisher, Euplio Marciano, raised $1,966 between Jan. 1 and Sept. 16.
