Equitable Cooperative Bank OK’d as approved MassHousing lender

MassHousing recently announced that the Equitable Cooperative Bank has been selected to be an approved lender of the agency’s fixed-rate loan products for low- and moderate-income home buyers. Based in Lynn, the bank also has a branch in Nahant, and offers lending services throughout Essex and Middlesex counties via the Internet. A quasi-public authority, MassHousing works to expand affordable home ownership opportunities in Massachusetts, but does not originate its own loans. Equitable Cooperative will now be able to originate MassHousing’s home mortgage loans for income-eligible home buyers. The loans have low down payment options and competitive interest rates.
