Fire Department offering safety open house

The Fire Department is holding a fire safety open house from 1 to p.m. next Sunday at the central fire station, 21 Town Hall Ave. Firefighters will demonstrate ways to escape a smoke-filled room, and offer tips on cooking safely and fire prevention. They will also be cutting open a car with the Jaws of Life. Free pizza will be served. The event is one of many fire safety open houses being held across the country by fire departments in partnership with Papa Gino’s during October, which is National Fire Prevention Month. For more information, call Christina Merrill at 978-640-4414.
