Gordon College’s Dorothy Boorse, an associate professor of biology, recently participated as one of 20 speakers, including former British prime minister Tony Blair, during Climate Week NYC 2013 in New York City, which its website called “a global summit of government, business, and thought-leaders focused on driving the transition to a low-carbon economy.” Boose authored a National Association of Evangelicals report titled “Loving the Least of These: Addressing a Changing Environment”(nae.net/lovingtheleastofthese), which addressed the implications for climate change and how evangelicals can be part of changes going forward. Her remarks in the opening ceremony and participation on a panel discussion were streamed live on climateweeknyc.org, where a message indicated that an on-demand version of the opening ceremony will be available shortly.
