Health Department schedules four free flu clinics

The Health Department is providing free seasonal flu vaccinations for residents at a variety of locations this season. Four citywide flu clinics have been scheduled for October. In an attempt to make it more convenient for residents to receive the shots, the department since last month has also been joining with local agencies and organizations to hold small targeted clinics at schools, businesses, and churches. The clinics will take place Thursday from 3-6 p.m. at City Hall; Oct. 15 from 9-11 a.m. and 1-3 p.m. at 24 Lowell St.; Oct.21 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Torigian Community Life Center, 79 Central St.; and Oct. 29 from 1-3 p.m. at City Hall. Anyone age 6 months and older can receive a vaccination. Although there is no charge for the shots, participants are asked to bring an insurance card if they have one. They are also requested to wear short sleeves. For more information, call Chassea Robinson, Peabody’s public health nurse, at 978-538-5931.
