Alliance Against Violence to hold walk and vigil

The Melrose Alliance Against Violence will hold its 18th annual Walk & Candlelight Vigil next Sunday at 4 p.m. The event will start and end at the middle school on Lynn Fells Parkway. Candles will be lighted in honor of people who have died from domestic violence in Massachusetts. A 2-mile walk around Ell Pond will follow. Organizers say they hope to have 50 teams, or 500 walkers, take part. Money raised will help support the group’s services and violence prevention programs.
