School Department invites residents to new high school

The School Department is inviting residents to a dedication ceremony for the newly renovated and expanded High School on Saturday from 10 noon. Following the ceremony and welcoming remarks, a reception will be held in the school’s new cafeteria/atrium, and tours of the building will be available. The $71 million renovation and expansion was a two-phase project that broke ground in November 2011. The first phase included the renovation and expansion of the auditorium, the renovation of the academic wing and the field house, construction of the new three-story science wing, and the demolition of the old Dunn Wing, which had been serving as swing space during construction. The second phase involved construction of a new section of the building that houses the cafeteria/atrium, a new main entranceway, and offices for the guidance and special education staff and the school and central district administrations.
