LeLacheur sworn in as new police chief

The Beverly Police Department has a new police chief. John G. LeLacheur was sworn in as the city’s highest-ranking police officer last week. LeLacheur, a native of Lowell and a resident of Manchester, N.H., worked for 29 years as a New Hampshire State Police officer before retiring in November as a captain. He replaces Mark Ray, who retired in September after serving as chief for six years.
