Brimbal Avenue vote slated for Feb. 8

Beverly will hold a special referendum election on Feb. 8 that will determine the future of a proposed $20 million shopping plaza off Brimbal Avenue. Residents will have the option to affirm or reject the City’s Council’s decision to rezone the property to allow by special permit the establishment of retail, restaurant, and residential space. Last year, the state awarded the city a $5 million grant for a proposed road project that would widen a section of Brimbal Avenue, rearrange the Exit 19 interchange on Route 128, and build a connector road over Route 128 between Brimbal Avenue and Dunham Road.
