On Jan. 17, the Finance and Advisory Committee of the Essex County Regional Emergency Communications Center in Middleton reorganized, voting in Middleton Town Administrator Ira Singer as its new chairman and Wenham Town Administrator Mark Andrews as its vice chairman. Previously, Singer had served as vice chairman, with Amesbury Mayor Thatcher Kezer as chairman. There are six charter members of the regional dispatch center, run by Sheriff Frank Cousins’s office. Essex and Wenham were the first two communities to go online, and Middleton, Topsfield, Beverly, and Amesbury are scheduled to go online in the future.
