Northern Essex adds new computer labs

Northern Essex Community College has added two computer labs equipped with the latest technology in the college’s newly renovated 420 Common St. building, enabling an expanded course offering including subjects such as networking, security, programming, and help-desk. The college will also now have full-time computer science faculty in Lawrence along with computer science tutoring and open labs. In the future, college officials say they hope to offer computer science certificates and degrees that can be completed in Lawrence without having to travel to the Haverhill campus. In addition to the new computer labs, the building’s renovation included the addition of an Eastern Bank branch, a café, and a bookstore on the first floor.
