Assigned for duty

At Camp Casey, Dongducheon, South Korea:

Army Private Brieyana Gingras (above) of Westford. She is the daughter of Brian Gingras, a retired Marine lance corporal from Methuen, and Diane Clifford of Medford. Private Gingras is the first female missile rocket launcher stationed in South Korea.


From basic training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, S.C.

Marine Private Katherine Mary Young, daughter of Barry and Debra Young of Groveland and a 2012 graduate of Pentucket Regional High School. Young earned the distinction of sharpshooter during basic training. She has been assigned to Camp Lejeune, N.C., where she will train in the School of Infantry.

Airman Alexander A. Figueroa, (above) with honors. He is the son of Shirley Figueroa of California and Felix Figueroa of Lowell. The airman is a 2011 graduate of Loara High School, Anaheim, Calif.
