Library to host series of talks on hobbies

Local residents looking to discover a new hobby for the new year are invited to a series of talks the public library is offering during February. The presentations, most of them by hobbyists from this area, will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesdays in February. The program kicks off Tuesday with presentations by the North Shore Amateur Astronomy Club and the Merrimack Valley Bird Club, and continues on Feb. 11 with talks by the Bay State Postcard Collectors, the Greater Lowell Road Runners, and TriFury, a Merrimack Valley triathlon club. The Feb. 18 session will feature the the Merrimack Valley Metal Detecting Group, the Merrimack Valley Chorus, and MomZenArtist — a local instructor in zentangle, a drawing technique. The final session on Feb. 25 will feature the 26thYankee Division World War II military reenactment group; the Merrimack Valley Collectors, a military vehicle collector group; and the Merrimack Valley Quilters. All presentations are free and sponsored by the Friends of the Tewksbury Public Library. Reservations are encouraged. To reserve a seat, contact the library at 978-640-4490 ext. 205 or
