Academy Award winner Meryl Streep will visit the Tsongas Center at UMass Lowell on Wednesday as part of the university’s Chancellor’s Speaker Series. “A Conversation with Meryl Streep” will feature the actress discussing her career with best-selling author Andre Dubus III, a faculty member in UMass Lowell’s English Department. Net proceeds from the event will be used to fund two scholarships. The new Meryl Streep Endowed Scholarship Fund will offer financial assistance to outstanding English majors at the university, while the Joan Hertzberg Endowed Scholarship will support students excelling in math. Hertzberg, who died last year, was a classmate of Streep’s at Vassar College and was an accomplished therapist, author, and teacher.
