Town celebrating 375th anniversary


Rowley plans to celebrate its 375th anniversary in 2014. The town was established in September 1639, making it one of the earliest European settlements in America. The town has several events planned for the year, culminating in a celebration of the anniversary of the town’s founding on Sept. 4 on the town common. Among other events scheduled is a celebration of the founding of First Congregational Church of Rowley, on Dec. 7. For more information, check the town website at
