Police will install, check car seats

The Police Department has two officers, Keith Lamont and John Raso, who are certified by the National Child Passenger Safety Certification Training Program, and offer car-seat installation and instruction on proper car seat use to residents. Lamont has been certified since 2008; Raso recently received his certification. During a child safety-seat check, parents and caregivers receive hands-on lessons in the proper use of child restraint systems and safety belts. Car-seat installations and safety-seat checks are available by appointment only. To request an appointment, e-mail Lamont at klamont@nrpd.org or Raso at jjraso@nrpd.org, or call 978-357-5087 and leave a message. The Police Department’s certified technicians report that there have been mass recalls on child safety seats.
