The fresh native red raspberry ice cream, available until the end of the raspberry season in late September, is Benson’s most popular ice cream. As a sundae, it is topped with whipped cream, nuts, and a cherry, but what pushes the sundae over the edge is the Fresh Native Red Raspberry sauce, made on site. $10 for a regular sundae and $9 for junior. www.bensonsicecream.com

The Gram Slam

Gram’s Ice Cream & Dessert,

Customers get to pick seven flavors of ice cream from among the 47 options on Gram’s menu. A homemade brownie, one banana, whipped cream, nuts, and cherries accompany the ice cream, with four other toppings of the customer’s choosing. It comes in a bowl shaped like a half baseball (though it is closer in size to a basketball), which customers can keep when they are done. Gram’s staff takes a picture of everyone who orders the Gram Slam, and posts it on social media sites. $25.
