Ipswich Town Manager Robin Crosbie announced her retirement last week. On Aug. 7, she presented a letter to the Board of Selectmen stating her intention to officially retire in early 2018. Her last day will be Feb. 2, with accrued vacation time until March, and her goal is to have the budget process largely completed and a draft Town Meeting warrant to the board by that time. She provided the early notice to give the board “sufficient time to organize and conduct an appropriate search for a successor,” according to the letter. Crosbie became Ipswich’s first female town manager in 2012, taking over from interim Town Manager Thomas Younger.
