A petition to reconsider funding the Natsue Way recreation project in Middleton has been submitted, requiring the Board of Selectmen to schedule a Special Town Meeting now set for 7 p.m. Nov. 7 at the Howe Manning School. The $3.8 million project did not get the required two-thirds vote needed at Town Meeting in May. If the project passes Town Meeting in November, it could move forward. However, the time limit on the previous bid for the project has expired and town officials believe that the cost would probably increase if the project is rebid. The project would include a soccer field, baseball field, multiuse field, two playgrounds, tennis courts, basketball courts, paved walking paths with benches, fitness stations, storm/shade shelters, seasonal ice skating, water fountains, comfort stations, and pathways.Linda Greenstein can be reached at email@example.com.
