Route 1 northbound traffic in Revere squeezes into one lane during fence construction along the median strip in 2008.

There will be traffic closures and detours on a section of Route 1 in Malden and Revere during overnight weekend hours starting Friday, Sept. 22, through Oct. 29.

The closures affect the north and southbound lanes between Lynn Street in Malden and Route 60 in Revere. The closures are needed to allow work crews to conduct deck repairs on the bridge that carries Route 1 over the Northern Strand Trail.
